IEO (Initial Exchange Offering)

IEO stands for Initial Exchange Offering. It represents the next evolutionary step in fundraising methods for cryptocurrency projects, following ICOs and IDOs. In this model, the sale of new tokens is administered and hosted directly on a Centralized Cryptocurrency Exchange (CEX), such as Binance, KuCoin, or Bybit. The exchange thus acts as an intermediary and guarantor for the entire process.

The main advantage of an IEO is the increased trust and security it offers to investors. Unlike unregulated ICOs, centralized exchanges carefully select which projects to support and conduct thorough due diligence on them, as they are staking their own reputation on the sale. For the project, this means immediate access to the exchange's large user base and guaranteed marketing. For investors, it provides an easier and safer way to participate and a near certainty that the token will be liquid and tradable on that exchange immediately after the sale concludes.
